  • At CBS EcoMedia Inc., we have a vision: To harness the power of advertising and channel it into tangible social change.

Since the founding of the company in 2001, our team has worked tirelessly to develop and hone an advertising model that would transform this ideal into reality.

It was with great pride that in 2011 and 2012, we launched our EcoAd, WellnessAd, and EducationAd programs.  These unique product offerings are based on our patent-pending ad model through which our clients, in collaboration with our wide network of non-profit partners, provide

An award-winning company, founded by a team of environmentalists and social entrepreneurs.

financial support for critical, yet underfunded, environmental, health, and education projects in communities nationwide.

Through their brand loyalty, viewers are turned into volunteers with the power to help create real, meaningful improvements in their own neighborhoods – a transformation which profoundly alters the conversation between consumer and advertiser, and makes our EcoAd, WellnessAd, and EducationAd programs advertising industry game-changers.

With the company’s 2010 acquisition by CBS, we exponentially scaled our reach. EcoMedia is now proud to offer our clients the opportunity to communicate their messages across all CBS platforms – national television, local television, radio, outdoor, and interactive.

We’re honored and gratified to have been recognized for our work in social enterprise. In 2009, we received the United States Conference of Mayors’ Excellence in Public/Private Partnerships Award. In 2013, we are an Edison Award winner for the second year in a row.

But the greatest reward of all? The ability to make a significant, positive impact in the communities we serve.

Paul Polizzotto, President and Founder, CBS EcoMedia Inc.

Paul Polizzotto’s career in social enterprise began in 1989 with his first venture, the industrial/environmental cleaning company Property Prep. A lifelong surfer, Paul melded his passion for the ocean with his talent for entrepreneurship and pioneered Urban Watershed Cleaning and Zero Discharge — two technologies that scrub toxins from parking lots and industrial sites, thus preventing run-off from entering storm drain systems and polluting the waters into which they feed.

As President of EcoMedia, the company he founded in 2002, Paul created and oversees the EcoAd, WellnessAd, and EducationAd programs. Through these innovative product offerings, a portion of each ad buy is directed to an environmental, community health, or education project in a local community.

Paul’s pioneering work has garnered numerous awards and accolades. Paul has received the EPA’s “Environmental Hero” recognition (1999), the Santa Monica Baykeeper’s and Waterkeeper Alliance’s “Keeper Award” (2002), and Coastal Living’s Leadership Award (2003).  In 2006, Vanity Fair magazine named him an Environmental Visionary, and in 2009, EcoMedia received the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ Excellence in Public/Private Partnerships award. The EcoAd program was an Edison Award winner for — in 2012; the EducationAd and WellnessAd programs are 2013 winners.

Paul serves on the Board of Advisors of Waterkeeper Alliance and is a Grades of Green Board Member. He is a frequent guest lecturer at business schools throughout the country, including at USC’s Marshall School of Business, where he is a Senior Fellow, as well as an inaugural member of the Board of Advisors for the Society and Business Lab.
